Every time I see meme coins soaring and crashing, my heart goes up and down. Want to find a reliable way to manage your finances? Today, let's talk about how deep the water is when it comes to on-chain new listings.
The most common thing people hear is about "internal market" and "external market" — what exactly are they? Simply put, the internal market is basically a "theme park" built by the project team themselves. Before the coin is listed on major decentralized exchanges, the team creates a trading pool filled with pre-set sell orders. You might think you're interacting with the real market, but in reality, you're just playing with a string of code. Price movements and liquidity data can all be artificially manipulated, mainly to test market interest and lock in early funds. Once the "pool is full" — meaning all the allocated tokens are bought — the project team will either migrate to a real trading pool on a DEX or simply withdraw the pool and run away. The latter is called a Rug Pull, and your coins become worthless paper.
When it comes to the "external market," the liquidity pool moves to a public decentralized exchange. In theory, the market becomes more open, and anyone can trade freely. But there are still pitfalls — projects with shallow liquidity can be easily pushed up and dumped by big players, making it impossible for your stop-loss orders to keep up.
Instead of gambling on high-risk, high-reward projects every day, consider those that incorporate stable returns into their design. Products like USD1 investment are using more pragmatic strategies to help you avoid these common traps.
