An investor who acquired 5,000 Bitcoins 12 years ago at a price of $332 each has recently made a move. This time, he sold 500 Bitcoins, which, based on the current market price, is worth approximately $47.77 million.
Looking back at this investor's journey, he initially spent $1.66 million to buy those 5,000 BTC. Starting from December 4, 2024, he gradually sold off his holdings, successfully selling 2,500 Bitcoins at an average price of $106,164 each, cashing out about $265 million.
As of now, the investor still holds 2,500 Bitcoins, valued at approximately $237.5 million. From an initial investment of $1.66 million to now, his total gains have exceeded $500 million. This case reflects a typical scenario faced by early crypto asset holders—gradually reducing positions at market highs to lock in profits while retaining some holdings to participate in subsequent rallies. For many market participants focused on Bitcoin's long-term trend, such large-scale moves by major holders often serve as important market signals.
