Jupiter has completed the second phase of "Fresh Start", destroying approximately 130 million JUP and shortening the staking unbonding period.
Odaily News Jupiter has announced the completion of the second phase of the “Fresh Start” plan, aimed at strategically aligning JUP with the broader goal of bringing billions into DeFi. The plan intends to take a more strategic approach to the development of JUP. The first phase focused on minimizing the DAO, resetting the community, and simplifying the narrative, while the core of the second phase is to vote on the destruction of approximately 130 million JUP tokens (referred to as the “Litterbox Burn”). The Jupiter team is currently executing the token burning and has shortened the unstaking window to 7 days based on feedback from token holders. Jupiter stated that in the future it will take a strategic approach to “Jupuary,” considering the opinions of all parties, actively designing to significantly reduce initial emissions, greatly increasing coherence for airdrop holders, and focusing on accelerating the core platform demands and vision for Decentralization. The project will continue to explore how to handle the 50% revenue continuously sent to Litterbox and will keep seeking new ways to integrate JUP into its product suite. Currently, JUP has been integrated into its verification system (where Express Lane fees are burned) and Metis Binary (which requires staking 10,000 JUP for access), and the next step will be to explore more ways to elegantly integrate JUP into future platforms.
