According to Mars Finance, The Block reported that Astria Network “intends to halt” operations at Block Height 15,360,577 on Monday. The project was launched in 2023 and is built on top of the Celestia data availability layer, aiming to be a modular decentralized sequencer for Layer 2 networks. Astria completed a $5.5 million seed round in 2023 and secured $12.5 million in strategic funding in 2024. However, the project has recently faced several setbacks, including halting the development of Flame EVM, an unexpected shutdown of the early testnet, shutting down Celestia validators, and the withdrawal of the only major integrated application, Astria Bridging Protocol.
