As high volatility becomes a market norm, more traders are reexamining their capital allocation strategies. While the crypto market offers significant flexibility and high return potential, concentrating funds in a single asset class over time also magnifies risk. Many traders are now focused on how to monitor and participate in price movements across other markets, all while maintaining the familiarity of their preferred trading environment.
Against this backdrop, Gate has officially integrated TradFi Contracts for Difference (CFD) trading into its platform. This feature is now available in the Gate App, providing users with a new gateway to access traditional financial markets.
Gate TradFi Contracts do not require users to actually hold foreign exchange, stocks, or commodities. Instead, trading is based on price fluctuations of these underlying assets—the core principle of the CFD market. The trading scope includes forex, indices, precious metals, commodities, and select popular stocks, allowing traders to engage with price movements from multiple markets on a single platform.
This design centers trading on price analysis and strategy execution, rather than asset delivery or holding processes, eliminating the need to open multiple financial accounts.
For TradFi contract accounts, Gate uses USDx as the display and settlement unit. USDx is an internal accounting unit pegged 1:1 to USDT. When users transfer USDT into a TradFi account, the system automatically converts the balance to USDx for display, requiring no manual exchange.
This design streamlines fund movement between crypto and TradFi accounts, avoids extra conversion costs, and better aligns transaction flow with real trading needs.
Unlike the perpetual contracts common in crypto markets, Gate TradFi Contracts follow standards typical of traditional CFD markets. Trading features defined opening and closing hours, preset leverage ratios that users cannot adjust, and uses a cross-margin model for margin calculations.
Within a single trading pair, long and short positions can be hedged by lot size, with profit and loss calculated at the counterparty price. During market closures, contracts incur overnight fees according to set rules, making the trading experience closely resemble mainstream TradFi CFD markets.
Gate TradFi applies differentiated leverage for different asset classes. Forex and index products offer up to 500x leverage, while stock CFDs are capped at 5x to reflect each market’s risk profile.
On trading costs, the platform provides a transparent and competitive fee structure, with transaction fees as low as $0.018 per trade. This enables traders to clearly assess potential costs when planning strategies.
Gate TradFi integrates MT5 (MetaTrader 5) as its primary trading tool. Users can view account status and trading records simultaneously via the Gate App and MT5 client, meeting both convenience and professional trading needs.
For risk management, the platform uses a forced liquidation mechanism based on margin ratio. If an account’s margin ratio drops to 50% or below, the system will liquidate positions step by step according to established procedures, controlling risk exposure and maintaining a stable trading environment.
To lower the learning curve for first-time TradFi contract participants, Gate has recently launched experience events. Upon registration, users can receive up to 110 USDT in trial funds and unlock up to 3,000 USDT in extra rewards after completing actual trades. This setup allows users to test trading procedures and strategy logic in a low-pressure environment and gradually build an understanding of the TradFi contract market.
As TradFi contracts expand, Gate is evolving from a crypto asset trading platform into an integrated venue for both crypto and traditional financial markets. For traders, this means observing multiple markets, hedging strategies, and allocating funds within a unified account system—without the need to frequently switch platforms.
The ongoing upgrades to Gate TradFi represent more than just the addition of a new trading tool—they reflect the platform’s long-term vision for multi-asset trading. Through standardized CFD rules, a clear fee structure, comprehensive risk controls, and integration with existing crypto account systems, Gate is gradually shaping a more complete model for market participation.
