OpenAI open-sources the Symphony framework to achieve autonomous management of AI agent project processes

PANews March 5 News, OpenAI has open-sourced the Symphony (Engineering Preview) framework on GitHub, aimed at transforming project tasks into automated workflows. The framework can monitor task boards like Linear in real-time and generate AI agents to handle coding, CI testing, and code review processes as needed, ultimately enabling the safe merging of Pull Requests.
Currently, the project is in the engineering preview stage and is released under the Apache 2.0 license. The core of Symphony is written in Elixir and provides comprehensive specifications to support multi-language implementations. Its goal is to shift developers’ focus from supervising AI agents to higher-level task management.
