US Department of Defense Makes Detailed Preparations for Deploying Ground Troops to Iran; Trump Is Reviewing Relevant Plans

Gate News Report, March 21 — According to CBS News, multiple sources briefed on the matter have revealed that U.S. Department of Defense officials are making detailed preparations to deploy U.S. ground forces to Iran. The sources said that as Trump considers operational plans for a U.S.-led conflict with Iran, senior military commanders have submitted specific requests aimed at preparing for such options.

The sources indicated that Trump has been reviewing whether to deploy ground forces in the region, but it is unclear under what circumstances he would authorize the use of ground troops. On Thursday, when asked about ground forces in the Oval Office, Trump told reporters, “No, I wouldn’t deploy troops anywhere,” but then added, “If I were to deploy, I definitely wouldn’t tell you.”

Two sources said the military has also held meetings to prepare for how to handle the potential detention of Iranian soldiers and paramilitary personnel if Trump decides to send U.S. ground forces, including where these Iranians would be taken.
