GateNews
According to Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, major oil companies and the provincial government are expected to reach an agreement on carbon capture deployment in the oil sands sector this summer. Once a substantial deal is finalized with the Oil Sands Alliance on the Pathways carbon capture project, a new pipeline route to British Columbia's coast will be cleared for construction. Smith is advancing this pipeline project, targeting Asian markets to boost Alberta's crude output. The pipeline route details are scheduled for release by July 1, with conditional regulatory approval expected by October 1.
