ASML Q2 Beats Expectations, Raises Guidance as 2027 EUV Capacity Surges 30%

ASML reported better-than-expected second quarter results on July 15, raising its full-year outlook. The chipmaking equipment maker plans to increase low-NA EUV (extreme ultraviolet lithography) production capacity by 30% in 2027. The company also announced plans to raise lithography machine prices; however, TSMC has expressed opposition to the price increase.

Meanwhile, China released stronger-than-expected economic data on July 15: second-quarter GDP grew 4.3% year-over-year, with first-half GDP up 4.7%. June industrial production accelerated to 5.3% growth, while retail sales rebounded to 1% growth for the month.
