Baltic Dry Index Declines 1.6% Today as All Vessel Types Weaken

According to Guru Club, the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) declined 49 points, or 1.6%, to 3,005 points today (May 20), driven by weakness across all vessel segments. The Capesize index (BCI) fell 69 points, or 1.4%, to 4,880 points, while daily earnings dropped $625 to $40,760. The Panamax index (BPI) declined 85 points, or 3.5%, to 2,374 points, with daily earnings down $764 to $21,367. The Supramax index (BSI) fell 2 points, or 0.1%, to 1,566 points.
