Bitcoin Volatility Drops to 28.3 Since 2016, Down 31% From June Peak as Leverage Exits

BTC-0.49%
According to Crypto Quant analyst Axel Adler Jr, on July 22, Bitcoin's 7-day volatility has declined to 28.3 from a June 25 peak of 41.6, representing a 31% decrease and placing it at approximately the 8th percentile of its historical distribution since 2016—meaning 92% of trading days over the past decade have experienced higher volatility. Meanwhile, Bitcoin's open interest relative to market cap has remained in negative momentum for 21 consecutive days, indicating sustained leverage reduction rather than accumulation in the low-volatility environment. The price has rebounded 11.4% from June lows without corresponding derivatives position expansion, reducing large-scale liquidation cascade risk.
