According to Coindesk, on July 18, Cardano developer Input Output announced it will transfer control of core blockchain infrastructure to external teams to reduce network dependency on the company as part of its decentralization roadmap. The transfer covers the Haskell node, Plutus smart contract platform, Daedalus wallet, Hydra scaling solution, and developer relations, beginning in August and continuing through 2027.

Se7en Labs, which specializes in Solana blockchain infrastructure, and Teragone, focused on software development and cryptographic research, will assume responsibility for portions of these components. Teragone leads development of Mithril, Cardano's stake-based signature protocol.
