According to Cardano developers, the V11 'Van Rossem' hard fork update launched on the Preview testnet on May 19th, with the mainnet governance vote targeted for May 29th. The update enables smart contracts to run faster and at lower costs while introducing enhanced cryptography features and improved staking pool security. The Plutus Cost Model update for the PreProd testnet took effect on May 16th, and ecosystem participants were advised to upgrade their infrastructure to Cardano-node v11.0.1.
