According to Chile's National Statistics Institute (INE), the world's largest copper producer saw copper output decline 13.8% year-over-year in April to 399,954 tons from 464,056 tons a year earlier. The drop was driven by high year-ago base comparisons and lower ore grades at major mining companies.
