China Opposes EU Sanctions on Russian-Linked Chinese Firms on June 10

According to China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian at a regular briefing on June 10, China firmly opposes the European Union's planned new sanctions against Russia, which may target Chinese, Turkish, and Indian companies. Lin stated that China has repeatedly raised serious concerns with the EU and called for the withdrawal of what Beijing considers illegal unilateral sanctions lacking international law basis and UN Security Council authorization. "China will closely monitor developments and take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests," Lin said.
