According to spokesman Lin Jian of China's Foreign Ministry on June 8, Beijing responded to recent European Union efforts to reduce so-called "dependency" on China. The ministry stated that deep integration in industrial and supply chains between China and the EU reflects economic globalization and market forces, serving the interests of enterprises on both sides. China views the bilateral economic relationship as mutually beneficial, not zero-sum competition. The Foreign Ministry expressed an open and positive stance toward resolving trade differences, calling on the EU to engage in dialogue and consultation to advance cooperation that benefits enterprises and people in both regions.
