China Sulfur Imports Hit 295,500 Tons in April, Marking 20-Year Low

GateNews
According to China Customs data released on May 21, China's sulfur imports fell to 295,500 tons in April 2026, down 42.77% month-on-month and 72.39% year-on-year. Commodity research firm Longzhong Information noted that this monthly import volume represents the second-lowest single-month level in two decades, trailing only October 2008's 236,500 tons. The sharp decline reflects reduced Middle East supply flows and elevated prices deterring purchase demand.
