China's National Grid Peak Load to Exceed 1.3 Billion kW This Summer, Up 6% YoY

China's State Grid is forecasting that peak electricity demand across its operating regions will exceed 1.3 billion kilowatts this summer, representing approximately 6% year-over-year growth, according to the company. To ensure grid stability and reliable power supply, State Grid is accelerating capacity expansion, advancing power market liberalization, and promoting efficient clean energy utilization, with 168 major summer peak-shaving projects currently under construction.
