DeepSeek Tops Ramp Software Trends List on June 5, Signaling U.S. Enterprise Shift to Lower-Cost AI Alternatives

According to Ramp's latest report released today (June 5), DeepSeek topped the 'software trends list' on the Ramp platform, becoming one of the fastest-growing software products tracked by the enterprise expense management platform. The list monitors enterprises' first-time purchases of software vendors. Ara Kharazian, chief economist at Ramp Economics Lab, noted that this signals U.S. enterprises are seeking lower-cost alternatives to OpenAI and Anthropic, with some companies adopting cheaper Chinese AI models.
