FleetFusion has unveiled SecureFusion, an open-source standard for verifying the authenticity of commercial fleet video footage using public blockchains. The framework enables insurers, regulators, and fleet operators to independently confirm whether video evidence has been tampered with after being recorded.
SecureFusion generates a SHA-256 cryptographic hash when video files are uploaded to compliant platforms and records this fingerprint on both the XRP Ledger and Bitcoin blockchain through the Open Timestamps protocol. By anchoring video hashes to public blockchains, the system creates a permanent audit trail that can be verified without access to the original service provider. The company emphasized that SecureFusion is designed as an open standard for adoption across the transportation ecosystem, including telematics providers, camera manufacturers, insurers, and fleet management platforms.
