According to BlockBeats, Galaxy Digital announced the establishment of a $5 million Bitcoin Quantum Readiness Initiative on July 22 to fund developers researching solutions against future quantum computing threats. The program opens for applications immediately, with funding directed toward quantum-resistant signature algorithms, wallet migration tools, and security audits.

According to CryptoQuant data, approximately 6.9 million BTC (worth about $461 billion at current prices) could face theft risk if quantum computers gain the ability to break Bitcoin's current encryption algorithms.
