High-Bandwidth Memory Demand to Grow 90% in 2026, 77% in 2027, UBS Forecasts

According to UBS, high-bandwidth memory (HBM) demand is expected to grow 90% year-over-year in 2026 to approximately 33.1 billion Gb, driven by artificial intelligence accelerators including Nvidia GPUs. The Swiss bank further projects that 2027 HBM demand will increase 77% to around 58.7 billion Gb. UBS also estimates that the total memory chip industry revenue will reach $992 billion in 2026, nearly doubling to $1.76 trillion in 2027, with structural supply shortages expected to persist through mid-2028.
