Iran Fires 7 Ballistic Missiles; U.S. Military Intercepts 6 on June 6

According to the U.S. Central Command, on June 6, Iran launched 7 ballistic missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain, with U.S. forces intercepting 6 of them and one missing its target. Earlier the same day, U.S. forces also shot down 4 Iranian drones heading toward the Strait of Hormuz and struck Iranian coastal radar facilities to prevent further attacks. Iran's Revolutionary Guard said its targets included the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.

Despite ongoing military exchanges, Trump stated the Iran situation "seems to be progressing quite well" and said the U.S. would "soon resolve the Iran problem" through either diplomatic or tougher means. Trump also revealed Iran currently has about 21%-22% of its missile inventory remaining. However, a fragile ceasefire agreement remains under pressure as Trump demanded modifications to a preliminary 60-day extension deal and new nuclear negotiations, which Iran has not yet publicly accepted.
