Israeli Forces to Withdraw from Southern Lebanon Pilot Area Within Days, Per U.S. Official

According to The Jerusalem Post, citing a U.S. official on July 9, Israeli forces will withdraw from one of two pilot areas in southern Lebanon within days. The withdrawal is part of a framework agreement reached between Israel and Lebanon in Washington, aimed at facilitating the next round of talks. An Arab official told the outlet that Lebanon will not participate in planned negotiations scheduled for next week in Rome until Israel completes its agreed withdrawal.
