Japan's First Tanker Arrives From Strait of Hormuz With 2M Barrels Crude Oil on May 25

According to Japanese media reports on May 25, the Idemitsu Maru, operated by a Japanese company, arrived at a port in Aichi Prefecture carrying 2 million barrels of crude oil. This marks the first Japanese tanker to transit the Strait of Hormuz and return to Japan since the outbreak of the Iran military conflict. The crude shipment represents approximately 80 percent of Japan's daily oil consumption. All crew members, including three Japanese nationals, are in good health. The oil will be transported via submarine pipeline to refineries in Aichi Prefecture.
