According to a recent interview, Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, said banks will oppose the CLARITY Act during the upcoming markup session. Dimon criticized the proposed cryptocurrency regulatory framework for lacking adequate investor protections and failing to address anti-money laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements. He stated the bill would allow crypto firms to offer stablecoin rewards without proper safeguards. The American Bankers Association (ABA) and other financial institutions have joined the opposition, with ABA President Rob Nichols urging member banks to pressure their senators to remove stablecoin reward provisions from the legislation.
