MSC published its rates for the second week of June at $4,240 for 40-foot containers, marking a $300 increase from the previous week.
Meanwhile, container shipping lines are actively managing supply through vessel cancellations and capacity controls. Data from Drewry shows that over a five-week period, an estimated 41 sailings on major east-west trade routes have been forced to cancel, representing approximately 6% of scheduled voyages, with current blank sailings maintained below 10%.
