Meta Launches 'Disappearing Messages' Feature on WhatsApp AI Assistant on May 13

GateNews

According to PANews, Meta launched its ‘Disappearing Messages’ feature on WhatsApp’s AI assistant on May 13, aiming to address user privacy concerns. The feature uses Private Processing technology to ensure conversations remain invisible to anyone, including Meta itself. Messages automatically disappear by default, providing users with a private space to think and explore ideas without surveillance, Meta said in a blog post. The company also plans to roll out ‘Sidechat,’ a context-aware private AI assistant within existing conversations, in the coming months, both utilizing the same Private Processing infrastructure.
