Microchip Technology Acquires Israeli Edge AI Firm Hailo in July 2026

According to Calcalist, Microchip Technology signed a definitive agreement to acquire Hailo, an Israeli developer of edge AI processors and software, in July 2026. The deal is expected to close toward the end of Microchip's fiscal quarter ending September 30, subject to regulatory approvals. Hailo makes edge AI accelerators, vision processors, and software that enable devices such as smart cameras, robots, and industrial systems to run AI workloads locally. Microchip said Hailo's products would complement its existing embedded portfolio, extending its edge AI strategy. The companies did not disclose deal terms. Hailo, founded in 2017, had raised approximately $340 million and was previously valued at over $1 billion.
