Nvidia Releases Open Humanoid Robot Reference Design With Unitree H2 Plus, Jetson Thor at GTC Taipei 2026

According to Beating, Nvidia unveiled an open humanoid robot reference design based on the Isaac GR00T platform at GTC Taipei 2026. The system integrates Unitree's H2 Plus humanoid body with Sharpa five-fingered hands (25 degrees of freedom per hand, 31 total), running on Jetson Thor compute hardware. It incorporates Nvidia's full software stack: Cosmos for world model synthesis, Isaac Lab for simulation training, Isaac Teleop for teleoperation, and Isaac ROS for runtime deployment.

The reference design enables universities and research institutions to begin advanced humanoid research within hours. Early adopters include Ai2, ETH Zurich, Stanford Robotics Center, and UC San Diego.
