Oil Prices Rise on Geopolitical Tensions; WTI Up 1.97%, Brent Up 2.00%

Gate News message, April 15 — International oil prices surged today, with WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude futures rising 1.97% to $93.077 per barrel and Brent (North Sea benchmark) crude futures climbing 2.00% to $96.686 per barrel.

The gains were driven by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Iran's military responded to U.S. maritime blockade efforts, warning that if the United States continues to impose a naval blockade threatening Iranian commercial vessels and oil tankers, Iranian armed forces will not permit any import or export activities in the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Red Sea.
