OpenAI Launches Dreaming V3 Memory System, Fact Recall Accuracy Jumps to 82.8% from 41.5%

According to BlockBeats, OpenAI announced on June 5 the launch of Dreaming V3, an upgraded memory system designed to enhance ChatGPT's ability to retain and apply user preferences, project context, and constraints across conversations. The system addresses limitations in scalability and accuracy across millions of users over extended timeframes.

Performance metrics show significant improvements: fact recall success rate increased from 41.5% in 2024 to 82.8%, user preference adherence rose from 31.4% to 71.3%, and temporal accuracy improved from 9.4% to 75.1%. The update rolls out to Plus and Pro users in the U.S. on June 5, with broader expansion to additional countries and Free and Go users in the coming weeks. OpenAI reports a five-fold reduction in computational requirements, enabling wider deployment.
