Palo Alto Networks Consumes $1 Million in Tokens Using Anthropic's Mythos Security Model in Three Weeks

PANW-1.16%
According to Onchain Beating surveillance, during a three-week early enterprise trial, Palo Alto Networks consumed over $1 million in API tokens using Anthropic's Mythos security model—Anthropic's large language model purpose-built for cybersecurity—while detecting over 20 critical vulnerabilities in its source code. The detection efficiency was 5 times higher than traditional security tools, though the high cost stems from Mythos's API pricing, which is approximately 6 times more expensive per token than Anthropic's flagship Opus model. To manage costs, Palo Alto Networks developed a dual-model architecture where Mythos handles analysis planning for intrusion and vulnerability scanning, while lower-cost Opus 4.7 executes the specific code tasks.
