Poland to Ban Smartphone Use for Primary School Students Starting September 1

According to Polish PM Donald Tusk, Poland announced on June 2 that it will prohibit primary school students from using smartphones on campus starting September 1. The Polish government approved a draft amendment to the Education Act, banning mobile phone use during classes, breaks, and school-organized educational activities. Electronic devices with recording, video, and communication functions will also be restricted. The ban applies to students aged 7–15 across Poland's 8-year primary education system. The amendment will proceed to parliamentary review and presidential signature before taking effect on September 1, 2026.
