Rio Tinto-Backed Arctial Aluminum Smelter Targets 610,000 Tonnes Annual Output from H2 2029

According to Maxime Vandersmissen, chief commercial officer of Rio Tinto-backed Arctial, the Finnish aluminum smelter plans to produce its first molten aluminum in the second half of 2029. The facility is designed with an annual production capacity of 610,000 tonnes, which the company says will increase Europe’s total aluminum output by 20 percent. Vandersmissen made the announcement at the CRU World Aluminum Conference in London.
