Russia's Final Crypto Law Preserves Non-Custodial Wallet Ban, Exempts Foreign Trade Participants

According to Bits.media, Russia's Finance Ministry Vice Minister Ivan Chebeskov confirmed on May 22 that the final version of the government's crypto market regulation law will preserve the ban on transfers from Russian custodial wallets to non-custodial foreign wallets. The ban includes exceptions for foreign trade participants, including importers. Chebeskov stated the final law version will be ready next week, with the government aiming for passage before the spring session of Russia's State Duma concludes. Once implemented, authorities will analyze the new regulatory system's effectiveness and may permit non-custodial wallet use experimentally in the future.
