Shaanxi Urges Coal Enterprises to Boost Output for Summer Power Supply; Sets 90% Contract Fulfillment Target

China's Shaanxi provincial development and reform commission released a notice on June 8 regarding energy supply assurance for the 2026 summer peak season. The directive instructs coal enterprises to release advanced production capacity safely and legally, achieving maximum output and stable growth in coal production.

The commission set specific targets for the summer period: monthly electricity coal contract fulfillment rates must remain above 90%, and power plants must maintain coal reserves of at least 20 days before the peak season, with reserves below 15 days dynamically cleared during summer. Coal enterprises are required to strengthen supply responsibilities and coordinate coal transportation priority with railway operators.
