SK Eternics Surges 65.2% in a Week as KKR Partners to Expand Renewable Energy Platform to 10GW by 2031

According to Maeil Gyeongje, SK Eternics' stock surged 65.2% in a week, reaching 80,600 won on July 23, after SK and global private equity firm KKR signed a partnership agreement on July 1 to establish an integrated renewable energy platform. KKR will hold 51% stake and SK 49%, with the aim to expand the platform's installed capacity from 1.7GW in 2026 to 10GW by 2031.

Securities firms project SK Eternics' Q2 operating profit to jump 50-94% year-over-year, with revenue surging about 300%. The company's core "Solarnics" business model bundles small-scale solar and wind projects into special purpose corporations for long-term power purchase agreements with corporations, accumulating 355MW in contracted PPA volume worth approximately 1.8 trillion won.
