SK Hynix Debuts on Nasdaq with 17% Opening Surge, Raises $26.5 Billion

SK Hynix, South Korea's memory chip giant, made its Nasdaq debut Friday (July 10) with an opening price of $170 per share, surging 17% from the American Depositary Receipt offering price of $149. The company's market value exceeded $1 trillion, drawing strong interest from U.S. investors. The ADR offering raised $26.5 billion, which will be allocated toward capacity expansion including new factories and equipment. Trading under the ticker SKHYV, the company will switch to SKHY next Tuesday. By market close, SK Hynix shares had climbed 17.45% to $175.
