South Korea to Halt 1.39M Tons of Naphtha Cracking Capacity in Yeongsu Tomorrow

According to Shin Han Investment, South Korea's Yeongsu petrochemical complex will halt 1.39 million tons of naphtha cracking capacity on July 23, marking the country's petrochemical industry structural adjustment entering an execution phase beyond planning stage.

With this shutdown following a prior adjustment in Daesan, the total domestic naphtha cracking capacity reduction is expected to expand to 2.49 million tons, signaling accelerated industry consolidation including facility shutdowns and corporate mergers.
