South Korea's August Business Sentiment Index Falls to 89.9, Lowest in 3 Months

According to the Korean Business Federation, South Korea's August business sentiment index (BSI) for the country's top 600 companies by revenue fell to 89.9 on July 28, down 8.1 points from the previous month and marking the lowest level in three months. Both manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors shifted to negative outlooks simultaneously for the first time since May. However, the electronics and telecommunications equipment sector, which includes semiconductors, posted the strongest performance with a BSI of 118.8, driven by robust semiconductor demand and increased capital investment expectations.
