South Korea's National Pension Service Rejects Centerfield GP Replacement Plan on July 6

According to South Korea's financial investment industry, the National Pension Service rejected a proposal to replace the general partner (GP) of Centerfield, a prime office building in Seoul's Gangnam district, on July 6 during an alternative investment committee meeting. The plan was to switch Centerfield's GP from Aegis Asset Management to Koramco Asset Management ahead of the real estate fund's October maturity. The committee raised concerns that transferring success fees and equity profits to the existing GP without an actual asset sale would be legally inappropriate. Centerfield, worth up to 4 trillion won according to current market valuations, was originally acquired by the pension fund in 2018 with an investment of approximately 2.1 trillion won.
