S&P 500 Falls 0.2% as US Strikes on Iran Reach 10th Night; 17 US Troops Killed

According to U.S. Central Command and the Pentagon, American forces carried out their 10th consecutive night of strikes on Iran on Monday, July 21, as military operations near the Strait of Hormuz intensified. The conflict has claimed 17 U.S. troops killed and approximately 430 wounded since late February.

The S&P 500 closed down 14.41 points, or 0.2%, to 7,443.28, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 307.16 points, or 0.59%, to 51,839.26. President Trump vowed Iran will "pay many times over" for American deaths, according to a Truth Social post. Bitcoin held near $65,083 with a $1.306 trillion market cap, while Brent crude climbed to $88 per barrel as the Strait of Hormuz blockade persisted.
