TerraFirma, a construction startup founded by two former SpaceX engineers, on Tuesday announced it raised $115 million in a funding round with investors including Kleiner Perkins, Bain Capital Ventures, and defense tech firms SpaceX, Anduril, and Hadrian. The Austin-based company develops remote-controlled construction equipment using interfaces like Xbox controllers to reduce costs and improve safety. TerraFirma plans to use the funding to hire 300 employees over the next year and establish both a Texas manufacturing facility and a mission control center.
