Trump Officials Urge UAE to Seize Iran's Lavan Island, Per Daily Telegraph Report on May 17

According to The Daily Telegraph, on May 17, Trump administration officials are urging the United Arab Emirates to take control of Lavan Island, a strategic location in the Persian Gulf region controlled by Iran. A former Trump administration official revealed that some members of Trump's circle have suggested the UAE should assume control of the island, with one official stating, "Go take them down. That way it's UAE ground forces taking action, not the U.S." The island reportedly came under secret military airstrikes by UAE forces in early April.
