According to Jin10, citing NBC News, on June 7, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that if the U.S. reaches an agreement with Iran to end their three-month conflict, America would cooperate with Iran to recover and destroy Iran's highly enriched uranium. If no deal is reached, Trump said the U.S. will further weaken Iran's military capabilities until American forces can safely confiscate the nuclear materials themselves.
Trump also indicated the two sides are "very close" to signing an agreement and that he is pushing Iran to make additional concessions on abandoning its nuclear program. Trump seeks to add language prohibiting Iran from "purchasing, procuring, or acquiring" nuclear weapons, beyond the existing clause forbidding "development."
