According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, the United States announced sanctions against Cuban leader on June 5, and China firmly opposed the move. The Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that the U.S. escalated its embargo and sanctions against Cuba and called out Cuban leadership, which constitutes an act of hegemonic coercion.
China urged the U.S. to immediately stop its blockade and any form of coercive pressure on Cuba, and cease infringing on the Cuban people's right to subsistence and development. China will continue to steadfastly support Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and security, and oppose foreign interference.
