U.S. Natural Gas Production Expected to Hit Record 1,106 Bcfd in 2026 as Demand Declines

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), U.S. natural gas production is expected to reach record highs in 2026, while demand is projected to decline. The EIA's Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) report forecasts dry gas production will rise from 1,077 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) in 2025 to 1,106 bcfd in 2026, and further increase to 1,150 bcfd in 2027.
