US Sanctions Iran's Largest Crypto Exchange Nobitex for Processing Over 50% of Digital Asset Inflows

According to the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the United States sanctioned Nobitex, Iran's largest cryptocurrency exchange, along with three other Iranian digital asset trading platforms: Wallex, Bitpin, and Ramzinex. OFAC stated that Nobitex processed more than 50% of Iran's digital asset inflows in 2025 and allegedly facilitated transactions linked to sanctions evasion, terrorist financing, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The sanctions also target Nobitex executives and co-founders, including chairman and co-founder Amir Hossein Rad and current CEO Seyed Ali Khoee.
