USD/CNY Weakens to 6.8067 on July 1, Down 42 Points as Yuan Strengthens

On July 1, the People's Bank of China set the yuan's mid-point rate at 6.8067 against the dollar, down 42 basis points, reflecting yuan appreciation. In the interbank foreign exchange market, the euro traded at 7.7574 yuan, down 97 points; the British pound at 9.0076 yuan, down 69 points; the Japanese yen (per 100) at 4.1835 yuan, down 210 points. The Australian dollar rose 183 points to 4.6987 yuan, while the Russian ruble strengthened against the yuan, with the exchange rate at 11.5913 rubles per yuan, up 2,620 points.
